hey guys...im referring to our talentime. i wish some of you guys will participate more in this dance. its not just a stupid dance we came up with and just wanna do it for fun. its something me, jin yin and teresa have been working hard on. its not easy to spend 3hrs in school coming up with a dance. might i add, 1 minute of the total dance. its even harder when some of you guys are not trying your best at it. this is just like the band's upcoming syf. if u dont work hard at it, u'll regret it all you secondary life. its our one chance to shine, prove to ppl that we're more than just a class, that our item is more than just a dance; its a combination of teamwork, hardwork, determination and class effort. its not me, jin yin and teresa;s talentime only. its ONETWELVE's talentime. its OUR own project. so if you wont even work for YOUR OWN project what other ppl expect u to do?
and for those who do try, thanks for trying ur best at it. we really appreciate it. but the fact remains that some of u keep asking us to change the dance steps, many many suggestions. we appreciate it, but would u help us out here? cos its not really simple to accept ALL of your ideas cos there are simply too many. so if ur suggestion does not appear in the dance itself, then dont take it as a personal insult, just that thr are better suggestions and we cant change the whole dance right?
and just now some ppl wer arguing whether to teach the moves first or arrange the ppl. whatever we do is for the class and not for our own benefit. we think its better to teach first then respect us for the decision we have made.
this dance is not just for our talentime, but its also something to get us MORE UNITED AS A CLASS. its not that i want it or love it but we have to work hard at it right? if you are given a hard project, like maths or sth, u dont want to do it right? but the thing is, we still have to do it no matter what. we have to work with each other, practice not only with the class and completely forget about it at home. i also practice at home. even if my mum will laugh at me i dont care. cos its OUR dance. our own self-choreographed dance. and btw i cant dance well so stop looking to me like im the best dancer cos jin yin and teresa are equally as good, if not, much better than me. like u can see im totally concentrating on the dance moves itself, while jin yin and teresa look like they'r having fun. trust me its a whole lot of pressure doing the dance and not trying to look like an idiot when u fall or foret the moves. like just now i accidently went too fast and everyone followed me. its really paiseh that the one of the three leaders screwedd up. haiz. and giving more effort means knowing the dance on ur own. MAKE AN EFFORT to rmb what moves go whr and when. like we saw without us dancing, even one of the pro-est dancers like ethanyn or esther or wenxian werent too clear ( no off) so i really hope u can move with the tempo and rhythm and blend in with the music.
i totally believe you guys can do it. so for those who are really trying (like esther, she just asked me for the song so she can practice at home) i really appreciate it and those who just want to get by doing it to please us, im sorry, but this dance is not to please us, its to bond together as a class, not something we do to just get it off our backs. im sure if we do well in this talentime (i dont mean scoring 1st place; i just mean having fun and not feeling bad abt screwing up) we will look back on that day and go :" wow i did my best in talentime; that was the best part of the whole camp!" and if we do really badly we will look back on this day and forever feel guitly, thinking :" why didnt i do better?" trust me, i heard these from my band seniors. last two years ago they got gold for SYF. good right? but beyond that high mark is actually sad ppl who wished they did better. in the concert hall after the performance i heard everyone was crying cos they didnt do too well. for the band, thr is always another SYF. but for us, this is our only shot. our only shot to do well. will u want to live ur secondary sch life with ur juniors asking u :" what did ur class get for talentiime?" and u feel regretful that u didnt get a place? or do ur best and boast to ur juniors that ur class got a rank or that ur class did their best and the dance was pro-ness and that ur class totally owned?
